    Talking FAC Granted-record time?

Sent my FAC application off on the 22nd April.
Had visit from Firearms Officer last night. (24th May)

After a few "Noddy" questions and a look at my driving licence
I was told it had been granted and I should have the certificate in a couple of weeks!

Hows that for service? Iv'e heard of some applications taking up to 3 months!!

Took 9 days start to finish for me 3 years ago in Wilts. Dedicated officer has now been replaced by 3 civvy staff and it is.. let's just say a little slower

    FAC Granted-record time?

Just like the decline in service, over the last 3 years, in the rest of the police force!

Don't mean to dampen your enthusiasm but isn't it the Chief or Deputy Chief Constable who gives final approval once he's seen the report from the FLO?

Possibly - I wasnt told that.

Dont think he would have said 2 weeks if he had forseen any problems though

it is ft shooter but if the flo gives you his blessing then it would be very unusual for the chief con to say no they seem to listen to the man on the ground so to speak now

Would agree with you there, sounds like it just needs "God's" signature.

Posting application to FAc on the doormat was 10 days for me

Variation took about 6 weeks though (then again , that was part of the TAC thing, so maybe fair enough)
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.
