    Rustams tuning secrets

Yes you too can have zero, yes zero fps variation shot to shot.

I have obtained (though very devious methods, such is my charm), Rustams Tuning secrets. So for the paltry sum of one pound (Sterling only please, none of the that Euro rubbish) you too can share in this, what can only be described as a Twenty first century scientific marvel.
Stamped address envelope and postal order for the sum of one pound, no checks please, there might be more like me out there.

What with winning a tenner bet on the back of Terry, and now, this, will this cash bonanza ever Finnish, I ask myself.

    Talking Jimbo, you rogue. ;-)

Venom provide this 'secret' with every DIY tune kit.

Preparing the main-spring was learnt from Baz.

    Did you service the Pro-Elite?

Ah Shucks Dodger, you"ve just ruined my get rich quick scheme, I suppose I will just have to carry on begging for a living.

It will be getting to full treatment sometime next week, after the main spring has had the Baz treatment.

Now then, who wants to know about the mainspring treatment, only one pound plus stamp addressed envelope

Curiosity is getting the better of me...but not a quid's worth!

I'm guessing the spring preparation work is to polish the ends of the spring or perhaps that trick where the spring is put onto a tight fitting rod and held under compression for a day...?

    2p's worth......

Thinking laterally (not always good) I reckon the only way you can get to a 'zero' fluctuation is either to fail to record (don't turn the chrono on) or fail to fire anything from the rifle.

I'm thinking that air temperature, barrel temperature, pellet shape, manufacturing tolerances, will up add up to at least 1 ft variation however good the rifle is?

    ...

25 consecutive shots, each and every one at 778 ft./sec.. The next day after I had finished zeroing I chrono'd one shot...778 ft./sec..

The velocity will go higher once the piston washer has had time (500 shots?) to form to the inside of the cylinder.

Mind you, the accuracy is still the same be it 0 or 14 ft./sec. extreme spread.

P.S.: This is the first time I have experienced such a thing. Pellets haven't been sorted by weight.

On some electronic gizmos, there is a little film of plastic over the LCD panel, often with some sample figures printed on it - remove this before using the device!

Would have been worth a £1 to have seen the look on 'someones' face when 'they' realised what 'they' had done.... [Or not done - in this case].
