Bushnell Elite 6500 Review

I also looked through the 6500 at the CLA, almost put me off.

If you get chance to look through one at a shop, there seems to be a world of differnce between that and the ones at the vickers stand.

The leupold is a good scope but i found the eye relief difficult and the field of view narrow in comparison the actual clarity of the optics in normal day light is about the same but in murky conditions the bushnell seems better than the leup or the ziess.

At £699 retail I would not have bought one, but for sub £490 UK supllied its a very very good buy.

The MTC is a very good scope with a nice reticule for the money its the best scope by far in that price bracket but does not compare with the bushnell or the others mentioned.

It's these differences that worry me about buying from the US, you can't look at the product or compare it with similar products to see which is better suited. It's a shame prices are so high in the UK and many of us have to settle for a Chinese special

I brought mine from a shop in the UK off the shelf for £490, give the buisness to UK gun shops where you can, thats what I try and do.

Blimey, mildot, really? I was looking forward to getting one and now i'm worried I did have my doubts whwther 6.5x mag range could be done without losing optical clarity.... Did you have areally good look through it?

If you can get to look through someone who owns one then i would! because the one i looked through at the cla realy was 5h1te! if they had offered it to me for free i would have battered them with it for insulting me!

But as Dave said the one he looked at at the game fair was also crap, butthe one he has bought he says is great! so i can only assume that the one at the cla was a dud. i find it hard to believe but going on what dave thinks of his it must have been.

Personaly im not prepared to risk it. For the money they cost i personaly think there are better scopes out there!

Any one knows that upto what short of distances, I can use this scope fitted in my Remmington 700 Customised with AICS in .308 Calibre. (From South York Shooting Supplies). I really wanted to use it in 75metres (In Reepham, Lincoln), 300, 500, 600, 900 & 1000 Yrds (in Bisley, Surrey). I have found the above Scope at Uttings.com for £599. Is it a good price?

Have just bought a 4.5-30x50 and a 2.5-16x50. Will test thoroughly and report back. I'm not easily pleased. We'll see

Will also be interested, I know some of the FT boys were looking at the higher mag scope, but it does only come down to 25yds.

Hi, I just happened to pick one up last week, I liked the look and feel, mildot, big tube, side wheel etc. I had a quick rethink as when I got it home I realized it focused down to 25yds not the usual airgun - 10. I decided to keep it anyway, as it is to mount on my Ripper xl25, and I expect to shoot at 50-100 yds. (fac 50ft lb)
I note the above to make sure you all are aware of the 25yd focus.

I noted in my review, artsr, that it focussed a shade shorter than that, even in full power (despite dial only going to 25y - that's better than most though)
The 2.5-16x50 version a great rangefinder (strangely) and dial is marked to 10y FYI
