    quick pistol question...

    Hi all
Been away from the scene for a while and not done my research.
Thinking of an alternative to my rifle, has anything pistol wise come on the market recently, close to the 6 ft lb limit worth considering.
Last time I considered a pistol, the Falcon range seemed to be as good as it gets-but at a price.
Any other considerations to be had these days.?
    Cheers
    Peter.

what happened to god 1 ?

Not much of a pistol man myself, but if it is full power and recoiless then I would not be surprised to see sheridan popping up as a legal limit power and reasonable build. Do a search as there was a recent thread on CO2's if that is a way you want to go
In a battle of wits I refuse to engage with an unarmed person.
To one shot one kill, you need to seek the S. Kill only comes from Skill

    Question Depends...

Depends what you want it for, the range of air pistols just now is huge. For high power the Sheridan is probably the one (pro hunter or something it is called, bolt action co2 capsule powered) but even at that I'd say it is unsuitable for hunting.

    Co2 mulitshots are good fun.

Self contained (Brocock) cartridges are now illegal (unless you had one before the ban and got an fac

There are some excellent single shot pneumatics around and for spring pistols the old favourites like Webleys or HW45's are still the kings...

    So,

what sort of pistol shooting did you have in mind?!

    Hmmmmm

    Okay then,

    Lets narrow it down,
    New or secondhand?
    What sort of budget?
Do you want single or multishot?

and let's play "air pistol window shopping" as I can't afford to add to my collection this month!!

Peter, if you're free next Saturday, get yourself to the Lea Vallery club at Hertford as it's the monthly hunter pistol competition. You'll see all sorts of pistols in use from top-end match pre-charged through Falcons and S&W revolvers to the Umarex Berettas, etc.

My understanding is that the Sub 6FP limit is to do with the Pistol Ban

That No pistol ( except Black Power ) can exceed 6FP

On our New Brocock Tac licenses it states that the power levels must not exceed 6FP for Pistols and 12FP for Rifles.

Rather a joke on Rifles , as the License normally allows to to shoot in excess of 12FP

Yes it's going to be very interesting next Saturday @ Lea Valley
    on the Pistol Hunter Competition

As many shooters have ordered a good assortment of New Guns for this Shoot
    Not forgetting red dot's

    Scopes are not allowed
