    thread type used on mk6 airsporter

    hi gents

    can anyone tell me the thread type of the foreend stock screws on the mk 6

    I think they are M5,they fit anyway.
    Ive just paid about a fiver for a pair from Chambers and realise that they are pretty standard panhead M5's.
    I am going to heat colour a few ordinary mild steel bolts for my other BSA's,rather than pay that again.

    Don't use slotted screws, get some cap head screws that you can tighten up with an allen key. Depending how much wood is around the screw hole you might need low head screws so they don't protude higher than the stock. My Airsporter S has had these fitted for years. Before that I used to have problems with the slot head screws comming loose after a long day shooting.
