As far back as possible mate - the longer the sight base the better the inherent accuracy.
On my Original 50 the diopter overhund the rear of the action, you just press your eye against the soft rubber cup and look through the pinhole.
Take care that you're not so close that the metal part of the diopter clocks you in the eyebrow from the recoil though!
The further apart the two units are, the better ( as a general rule ).
The rear sight 'hole' should be aligned with the target ( easier if the target is one of the black bullseye types, as it will sit comfortably in the middle of the picture ).
The foresight element might be a standard post or post and bead - which should be aligned centrally with the rear 'hole' and centrally with the target ( higher or lower to compensate for ranges etc ). The foresight element might also be another, smaller circle type. In this case align rear and foresight as before but centralise the fore sight circle evenly around the target.
Hope that reads well...

Thanks for the advice, I will move the rear sight back as far as I safely can.
Thanks Again

Ian.
I've got some quite detailed info on setting up and using peep sights. Paper-based only though m8. Email or PM me with your address and I'll stick some copies in the post for you.

I wonder if I could scrounge a copy of that from you as well
If you could let me know if that's ok, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks
Pete
