Pellet?
from 40 to 100+ depending.
Would you get from a .177 BSA Hornet.

Ay, you'll get over 100 at 6 ft/lb but I assume he want to run at close to 12 so I'll stand by my figures. Do you perchance have a full chrono run on such a set of figures?
Either your .177 carbine is significantly different to mine, or there must be something wrong here. Mine does about 65-70 at ~ 11 fpe with JSB Exact 4.52. I've seen a factory test graph that shows the power falling off the proverbial cliff with Bismags at 11.5fpe in a .177 carbine beyond 70 shots.Originally posted by corkscrew

At 11.5 ft/lb mine did 40 on accupells and 70 on bis mags. 55 on daystates. Gun was adjusted to run at 11.5 on each pellet. My rifle length does around 95 on Daystates. IIRC the rifle runs a 125cc reservoir to the carbines 75cc so my figures are roughly in line, especially if you allow for the more air efficient longer barrel.

I have a .177 BSA Hornet carbine and I fill mine to 232 bar after every 50 shots. (pressure falls to about 80 bar after 50)
I have film containers with 50 pellets in each ( I know, I am sad !)
The gun shoots much sweeter with a full charge.
I use Air Arms 4.51 field diablo pellets with excellent consistency, I have tried 4.52's but noticed no difference.
One trick I learned, to avoid damage to the pellet and to avoid flyers, is to nudge the pellet into the receiver using your finger nail first and then push it into place with the probe.

i never said i had a 177
Darren
i had approx 160 shots in 22 in a plinking sesion using heavy exterminators.
i assumed that a 177 could do about 65% of this.

Cheers lads,
Still a bit unsure with the disagreeing going on.
So 50/60 is around a fair figure then?

p.s I thought it'd do more being regulated.

Not necessarily more, but the 50 or so shots you get are more consistant, compared to a non-regulated gun.Originally posted by hillbill

Or something.
