I have two of the original (one carbine, one rifle)

Excellent guns, accurate and quiet, with a very fast action (liek the career, but these cock on the closing stroke, which is much better).

Due to the stock design, they may not fit your face though, so well worth trying first...

PS just noticed your location - you're welcome to pop by our Cobham club and try mine out sometime - which is exactly where I'm headed now !
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.

Depends what you are "looking for"....

I'll guarantee you that after having a plinking session of mine at 100 yards, you'll want to throw your "pretty looking" pop-gun away

    Cheers,

    JB

PS If you are near to Cobham, you're welcome to come down to our club !

i handled the phoenix at BAR today . it felt as light as a feather unscoped and is a lot shorter than i expected. didnt find it unbalanced as some peeps have said.
i think they could have done a better job of the finish on the metal breech area.
    Regards

I handled the new Phoenix at Guns International the other day.
Pat (one of the ladies in the shop) is sending it back. We both agreed that it is bloomin' awful. The balance is soooo far back it is unbelievable. Put on a scope any bigger than a 4x32 and the balance is going to cause BIG problems. You would need lead weights in the silencer to counteract this.
The bottle is in the butt. You have to remove the recoil pad, use a tommy bar to unscrew the bottle, charge it and then replace the bottle and the recoil pad. Too expensive, poorly balanced, ok for the collectors but I wouldn't want to use it in the field.
    Giz a job, Terry!

Poor balance - you must be joking !

Freestanding, using a 40 mm knockdown and a 20mm resest disk, I dumped a whole mag (10 shots) kill-reset-kill-reset etc. and was getting either 10/10 or 9/10 each mag, at 25 yards, total time for the 10 shots about 15 seconds, with a WTC 4x40 atop.

Sorry mate, if you can shoot this gun is NOT poorly balanced

If on the other hand you need 10 lbs of "noseweight" 'cos you can't hold a rifle steady then yeah, you're probably right

Chill Jon, everyones entitled to their own opinion. JL does shoot a 5' Stealth and wont be use to the weight being at the rear, right Johnny?

You are of course quite right - but....
