    Portable Target Horder

    Hi all.

I've been busy with a little project for our up & coming Pistol Meet/Competition.

We need the targets to be mounted for standing straight shots.

So I come up with a Target Holder stand that is made from plastic pipe, elbow joints, tee joints & straight joints.

It's over 6ft high & can be set 2ft, 4ft, 6ft, 8ft or 10ft wide. It can can taken apart with the tubes no longer than 4ft & all conpoments fitted into a rotary pole bag for storage or taking to the range.

    Components are as follows

    4 x 10ft 32mm pipe
    4 x Tee joints
    4 x Straight joints
    2 x Elbow joints

    2 x 10ft net curtain wire
    4 x Eye bolts
    Bull dog clips/Clothes Pegs

    Making Target Holder

Pipe 1 - cut 4ft, 4ft, 2ft This will be for top section
Pipe 2 - cut 4ft, 4ft, 2ft This will be for bottom section
    Pipe 3 - cut 4ft, 2ft, 2ft, 2ft This will be for Lh leg
    Pipe 4 - cut 4ft, 2ft, 2ft, 2ft This will be for Rh leg

Assemble pipes using all joints >Diagram<. Drill holes for eye bolts into Lh & Rh top 2ft leg sections (with enough gap to attatch A4 targets) & stretch net wire between pipes, I've also drilled holes in the base legs so I can put tent pegs in the ground with it.

    All photos & diagram >HERE<

(no comments about the back stop on the photos as it is set up for display purpose only )

I tried the 2ft set up today >HERE< works fine. I'm planning on going to the club monday to use the full 10ft set to see how it goes.

Now I know that it is only made of plastic pipe, however with the cost of £24 to make, replacement pipes are not that much, incase of any stray shots.

    Regards
    Paddy.

    Great idea Paddy

Gets the big thumbs up from me anyway ! A BIG portable target holder , brilliant idea especially for clubs that can't leave a full time plinking range out .

Superb Paddy ... May have a go at a modified version of the 2ft set up for myself (a lower version for prone shooting ). When will we see it (and you) on Dragons Den then . Ha ha. Atb M8: Gareth W-B.

    Nice work.
I'll sketch out my primitive design for a manual rotary system over the weekend and scan it/post it for comment/development.

Me on the den that would be funny esp. if I was wearing all my camo's

As for the prone, I have already thought of that

Option A: Eye Hooks on the lower legs

Option B: Remove the 4ft legs & just put the holder part on the base legs

    Regards
    Paddy.

Look at this >THREAD< that I done. I used K'nex peices to build a revolving & turning targets

I could come up with something for the Practical Pistol Style Shooting if I put my mind to it

    Thumbs up

Excellent idea Paddy. Life size targets that you can carry to the club or plinking range yourself. Most ingenious.

Thumbs up Get the bloody patent in!

Paddy, I name you Heath Robinson and claim my 5 free camo candles.

Seriously though, well done. A brilliant design concept which readily adapts to different shooting situations, and is cheap as chips to boot.

I can just see the patent now...

    Talking

    I love it......!
Although to reeally finish it off - it should come in a box marked "Acme Target Holder" and you should introduce yourself as "Pad.E ~ SuperGenius" preferably with a business card marked with same........
Seriously though - Hat off to you mate
