    Steyr LP2 Pellet Choice

    Hi all,

I am getting one of the above pistols and wanted to know what your LP2 pistol likes?......I understand all barrels are different, but I will need to buy various match pellets but not sure which ones?

    Any help appreciated

    All the best,
    Tom

direct from harry preston. although i do buy them in bulk. this of course is no good if you want to experiment. not sure where to get individual tins?
the price has rocketed in the past year,12 months ago 5000 pellets cost me £45 ; recently i paid £65! something to do with the cost of lead.
h@n finale match are readily available individually and are excellent, again its down to experimentation, the rifle pellets are slightly heavier and are better for longer distances e.g. 20yd or 25m diciplines.there is also the choice of 4.49,4.50,4.51 etc.

i think harry preston will actually tune a pistol for certain pellets, might be worth giving him a ring. search "harry preston" and you will find his contact details.

I prefer the RWS R10 in the 7.2gr weight for all distances up to 25 metres. I'm not sure the LP2 has the 'oomph' to make the most of the 8 grain ones. They work pretty well in my LP5 as well.
