    What's your question?

Mine has a lot of movement fore & aft with the cylinder, does the ratchit take the recoil or should there be tube sticking out through the ratchit that goes against the frame.I have spoke to a few diffrent people including
Westlake Engineering who seem to think this tube has broke off; others think
the frame may have stretched, thanks for your time.

Mine has almost no movement front to back, the cylinder wont drop in unless straight.
The indexing "ratchet" fits flush with the frame so no tube.
The only "tube" is the one at the front.

    Picture here.

    Hope this helps a bit.

I had one for a while.

Something doesnt sound right mine was tight as a tight thing.

You'd have had to shoot the nuts out of it to stretch the frame with BP though

Are you sure you have the right cylinder for the gun

If you bought it from a shop I'd dump it back there quickly

The picture shows a nipple, it's not the best picture but it is the only one available.
There's no chance of stretching the frame using BP. It's the same frame allthough slightly altered that they use for the .45 Colt cartridge pistol.

Quite simply if its not a good tight fit then give it back, it's faulty.

RichardH, mine's as tight as a tight thing as well, that's 'cos it was yours.

    Question Uberti cattleman

just a thought lads but how do you load it ? my Uberti .36 colt has a under barrel rammer for loading, the cattleman is like a peacemaker with a side rod for pushing out the spent shells, do you have to remove the cylinder and load on the bench, cheers Tezz

Yep, you pull the cylinder pin, open the gate and remove the cylinder.
Put it in a stand, powder, wad, ball and then pull the lever to ram home.
    Refit, cap and pray

Well if Santa says yes then give me a shout.
Mine is a lovely piece but it hardly gets any use.
If the price is right it could be yours.
