Just got one off Kevin.Ronnie (cheers mate, arrived promptly, well packaged.)
GL48475. Anyone got details such as year of manufacture, model ( sold as MKV ), etc.
What is the best source of information on these rifles (especially the model mine is)
Thanks in advance
Russ

According to John Knibb's book, "The Golden Century", a GL prefix signifies an Airsporter Mk VI .22 made 1978-1983.
BSA may be able to give a more accurate date of manufacture.
I would be inclined to agree with John Knibbs as his information would have seem to be based mainly on BSA records, wheras Dennis Hiller seems to have amassed his records from guns he handled. Of course there may be errors in both works?
Anybody else got any views on this?
dogsbody
i think dogsbody is spot on mk v1 1979-1983 as john knibbs had access to all of BSA,s existing factory records
