    smoothboring a barrel

Is it a hard procces to smoothbore a barrel? would most gunsmiths be able to do this. I ask as I would like a flintlock rifle but in smoothbore.

    Thanks

    smoothbore.

I woud imagine it could be done but why? Wouldnt it be better to just buy a smoothbore rifle in the first place and know its right. If the rifling is removed the thickness of the barrel is reduced considerably and would involve having the gun reproofed. Both costly when compared to the cost of a charlaville for instance. Also if you modify a rifled barrel i cant imagine anyone would ever want to buy it if you decided to sell it.
Just my opinion. If you do go ahead then keep us imformed how you get on with it.

I know it's been suggested before - but Kranks DO sell them - what luck did you have when you contacted them ??
