    "is that a rat

    .....or a cat"
out last night with the pig farmer and we were both watching through night vision when we spotted two bright eyes staring back at us, about 20 yards away and we both said at the same time "is that a rat ?" looking a bit closer at the ears etc we concluded it was a cat. Not wanting a cat around we lit it up with a torch to scare it off, well it was the biggest rat I've ever seen for both of us to confuse it with a cat too.
So by virtue of its size it survived but next time I'll be ready for it and I'll make sure the Gladiator is on full power !!
Always best to check first though 'eh, before pulling the trigger.

me and a friend once got a massive rat. the body was as long as my shoe and the tail was a little short of my other shoe in length. i am a size 11it measured about 26 inches in length. it was huge. we got a few pics of it aswell. took it out with the s400 in ,177. didnt even flinch. weve shot rats with the hmr before out to 60yards which is great fun.

You did the right thing by not taking the shot, people have been killed that way.

best to check you are right first.
was out rabbitiing one night and heard a sound off to my right.
slowly turned with the superstar, lined up on the sound, and smiled my face off. blinking hedgehog actualy walked over my feet.
it must have been eating something narcotic, it didn`t notice i was there.
the only thing i can find wrong is the nut on the steering wheel.
