    Club Break-in - kit stolen

Just been told our club (Hereward FT&ARC) has been broken into over the weekend.

The padlocks on the main gate and our container/lock-up were cut, but they could not cut the security padlock - so they forced the door instead.

They then broke into our gun cabinet and stole:
    • CP88
    • CP99 Sport in orange
    • AAS400 0.177 beech stock fitted with hamster. Tasco 8-32 front PA scope
    • AAS400 0.177 walnut stock fitted with hamster. Tasco branded 10-40 sidewheel PA scope
    • AAS200 0.177, tasco 6-24 front PA scope
    • 2 x BSA meteors

They also broke into our filing cabinet and took the club scopes
    • Tasco branded 10-40 sidewheel PA scope
    • Zos 10-40 sidewheel PA scope
    • Simmons 6-18 front PA scope

Police are informed and we have a crime number. The lot's insured, but it'll take a while to process. In the meanwhile we have no ability to support beginners or new starters as we are without any club kit.

The scumbag's got to have been a previous visitor/ex-club member or someone who knew exactly where to look and what to go for. They knew which lock-up to hit, and where to go in the lock-up as well. They did not bother forcing any of the cabinets that contained targets to look for any more "goodies".

I'm sure they will have a lovely Christmas - at our expense

If anyone in the P'boro area gets offered a stupidly cheap gun or combo as described above then please let us know. We'll put the Police onto any leads.

Before anyone asks or comments, we did everything we could to make the place secure, and could not have protected them more if we'd kept them ourselves. There were people down every day, and the range is being set up for Police use as well: how much more secure could it have been?

PS: why is #####borough on the swear filter?

Sorry to hear that mate, would it be a good idea for clubs and organisations to keep serial numbers of rifles for times like these, i hope they catch the scumbags but somehow doubt it

If anybody knows anything would you want take them up to the range and shoot there ######## off.

    Club guns

Sorry to hear this. Not occurred to me before but I suppose some permanent club marker on the guns would make the guns unattractive to thieves, especially those who might know the club layout. Would reduce the sell on value but if they are keepers, no problem.
