Help with tuning an old airsporter

chambers are saying they always use 33.5 coil springs.

I'm going to try the wooden block method tonight.

Can i cut the spring guide to fit in the trigger block? or is it imperative that i get a new one?

you can reduce the diameter down to fit in the trigger block, is it a nice sliding fit inside the spring?

yeah its sliding in the spring ok
