So as not to arouse my wifes suspicion and alert her to the fact that I'd been buying more guns I hid it in the one place she'd never look.

Anyway since picking it up off the top of the vacuum cleaner I've been getting some nice tight groups with it.

This year, like most other years, we shopped for the kids, grand-kids and foster-kids. In between we'd ask each other what they wanted for Crimbo.

We usually end up buying perfume, aftershave and the likes.

Then on Christmas eve Shirley says ' d'you want a new air pistol?'
The breath had hardy left her lips and we were all loaded up in the waggon heading southbound on the A1M towards Joe Beathan's Gunshop in Barnet.
Within 5mins I was the proud owner of a Walther Colt 1911.

Have you noticed that despite our ages we still have that little boy inside saying Gimme, Gimme, Gimme?

I remember having one of the first models when they came out some years ago, it had the single blade trigger that was a right heavy s.o.b. The new one is very smooth, now off we go, practice, practice, practice.

    Good luck, Phil

Well, to answer my own question: I didn't get a new air pistol: but I did get a GAMO "Knock 'em down!" field target system.

Is this what you got, Tony?

AND, 1,000 rounds of Daisy pellets.

    I got this http://www.sportsmk.co.uk/item/137/

Doubt it will see that much use as it will make a hell of a noise

When I was about five years old my parents took me into one of those Santas Grottos in a large department store. The old guy sat me on his lap and asked what I'd like for Christmas. Of course I said "A gun" so he gave me a shiny plated cap revolver from a pile next to him. My sister then went forward and sat on his knee and he said "And I expect you'd like a doll wouldn't you?"
"No" said my sister. "I want a gun too". We walked out as pleased as punch. Can you imagine in how many ways that scenario would be so non PC now!

That looks like a lot of fun, Tony! When I first got an air pistol. my first set of targets was a metal miniature turkey, pig, ram, and chicken - metallic silhouettes designed for air guns. I entered a few comps here on the BBS, but then started bullseye in the Target forum here, and now the UBC comps.

Metallic silhouette is becoming a big sport in the US. It originated in Mexico, with hunting rifles: is now done also with pistols, .22's, and air guns.

Similar to the FT / HFT shoots in the UK.
