    Harris Bipods

Im thinking of getting a Harris Bipod for my airgun but im not sure if id use it that much for the hunting and hunterFT.
am i right in saying that they connect to the gun via the sling screws that attach the sling to my gun.

If you fit a bipod, try to put the stud as far foreward as you can so if you take the bipod off, the stud will be foreward of where your hand naturally rests when taking hand held shots.

On my s410 i did not think of this and the stud just touches my hand when shooting without the bipod which is annoying 'cos half an inch foreward and it would have been perfect.

Without going down to the garage(i'm in bed feeling rough)and measuring, here is an old pic of where i mounted my bipod.

The stud looks in line with the bottom of the diagonal engraving and you can see there is room to have it more forward before it reaches the downward sloping front of stock.

Just make sure the bipod sits flat on the stock...

You can't use a bipod for UKAHFT.

I would go for an add-on rather than a dedicated scope as you get to use your day scope's magnification rather than a dedicated's usual 2.5-4 times low mag.
The most important thing with gen 1 scopes is extra illumination as without it longer range shots become impossible.

A good starter set-up is a cobra merlin and the addition if an IR laser makes it a whole lot better.

Post your needs in the night vision section and they will steer you in the right direction.

well went and purchased a harris bipod today from my local gun shop. it took minutes to fit after that things got worse now i cant fit it in my gun slip so now i have to go and buy another gun slip that can accomadate the new setup it was tight at first just with the scope fitted because of the high turrets so im off back to my gun shop on friday to find that my gun will fit in

Just keep it in your pocket and put it one when you need it.

Easy solution is to remove the bipod between excursions... the slip won't be affected that much by a sling stud surely?
