Need Info On Gun Control Network

I'm trying to verify some rumours flying around about the GCN. If true this stuff could pretty much discredit them.

#1 They have a miniscule membership, ie they speak for a tiny number of people.

#2 One of their founders was a convicted fraudster. I think I heard something about this on Channel 4 News a while ago.

#3 Most of their money comes from George Soros, a convicted insider share dealer. Here's the evidence of Soros's criminality:

We need to connect him to the GCN.

I think it was posted on here - GCN consists of a grand total of five people...

    Arrow

Five people does not make a network , but when you have the ear of number Ten and play there tune.
It does concern all shooters what this little group is about.

They have access to material only the Goverment can supply
    Often quoted in National Newspapers.

Attacks against it's Members have failed in the past.

Only answer is to keep assisting our Shooting Orgainsiations like BASC.
Proving that All Shooters do care and that the Network is so far out of touch it's a embarrassement to their Supports and Number 10.

But it is worth checking out there web site, as there is often only information they have about our Sport.

There also was a Spoof web site that was very good.

    Links not to Hand.

    I prefer the spoof site
An amusing quote from the proper site :
Our job is to persuade the law-makers that they must listen to the majority, and not be swayed by the narrow sectional interests of the shooters
With 5 members they are clearly in the majority

And don't forget that this Soros bloke (Damn foreigners, what hey?) broke the pound back in the day.

Sounds like a good all round egg

Edit: whoever put that "spoof" site up needs a pat on the back

    Just found this quote:
"If the thief is found breaking in, and he is struck so that he dies, there shall be no guilt for his bloodshed. If the sun has risen on him, there shall be guilt for his bloodshed. He should make full restitution; if he has nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft."
    ~ Exodus 22:2-3

I'm not religous or anything, but that's pretty sensible.

Just had a look on the mothers against guns website. I watched a film on the site

"Nick Gordon of Academy Films, whose credits include the commercial for Radio 1 Xtra, has shot a short film called 'Toys that Kill'. The film shows children playing with replica guns, which turn out to be real, with all the violence that results. Helen Mirren has contributed the voiceover for the film. "

Your views please. See it here.

Tha hash mark appears to be part of the address, not a typing error by yours truly.

An emotive appeal with no hard evidence - which in my opinion sums up MAG.

The sight of a child being shot by a replica gun that turns out to be a real gun (as the film protrays) seems on the face of it a compelling arguement to ban the sale of replica guns, but as I said above this is an emotive appeal with no reference to how likely or how common this is. Ok you could argue that if it's happened once then that's once too often and to an extent I agree.

But to make a reasoned decision on such things and put them in their proper perspective you need hard facts which the MAG website seems to lack apart from one carefully chosen statistic and a few lines of an unnamed source's 'opinion'

It's interesting that Helen Mirren provides the voice over, but isn't listed as a supporter of the cause along with 'Big Brovaz' and the 'So Solid Crew'. I'm not inferring anything by that merely making an observation.

This would tend to support #1, ie their membership is miniscule:

    http://www.parliament.the-stationery...95/9121410.htm

Basically, a membership of 7 people. Funding from a "charitable trust". it'd be very interesting to find out if that is a Soros organisation.
