It's not critical - what you're trying to do with inert fillers is move the ball as close to the cylinder mouth as poss, to minimise 'jump' between cylinder and barrel throat. My 9mm case jobbie was a result of trial and error and in fact it really doesn't hold enough semolina. Good enough though. Some I know use powder dippers from their reloading kits, others all sorts of weird and wonderful home made gizmos. Empty cases seem most popular though - get hold of one, cut it down if too large bit by bit until it holds about the right amount then fix a snazzy handle with a small bolt through the primer socket. Makes it easy to scoop up the filler and dump it into the cylinder.Originally Posted by Eagleman
