    Pietta loads

I've just been onto the Pietta website and they have a manual that gives recommended max/min loads for their revolvers.

For the .44, using a .454 ball, the load is 15 max and 12 min
For the .36, using a .375 ball, the load is 12 max and 9 min (grains)

This seems a little on the light side to me, does anyone have any more information on these loads?

In .36, I'm using 15gns by volume of 777. Pietta Navy Sheriffs a "nicer pair", than the obvious, you will not find!

These loads do sound a bit light and are significantly less than those reccommended by Pedersoli for their revolvers. One of my friends had a Pietta Remington a few years ago and was unable to get it to shoot well on 15grns of BP. When he upped it to 20grns there was an immediuate improvant in his group sizes. I used to use 23 grains for my Roger and Spencer and still use 23 for my Ruger OA. I've never had a .36 so I can't comment with any experience but I think I would start at 18 grains and work upwards.
