    Question Mk2 or MFR I can't decide

Right I'm going to sell all my rifles & scopes etc....I love all of them, the Skan is a short range NV ratting & bunny basher, the FN12 Raptor light hunter has loverly trigger......Harrier steady work horse.....Mk1 well good as the day I brought it.

I am going to buy 2 new rifles, either 2 Mk2's with 400cc bottles or 2 MFR's. These will probably be made FAC by Ben Taylor in the near future. One will have a decent scope for hunting & HFT (no such thing I know). The other will have my NV kit.

I'm now stuck to choose, the MFR should be quiet, but how does it cope with FAC speeds.

The action is supposed to be quieter than mk2

The trigger is supposed to be better than Mk2

However the Shots per fill are lower, I shoot @ a club twice a week, so 20p a fill is not bad, also I have 2 12 liter 300 bar bttles so I'm fine there. But what about FAC?

If the MFR was £100 more than the Mk2 I would go for the Mk2, but it's the same price of £820 from Ben Taylor direct & Dowlings will sell ex-works for £750 for Mk2 or MFR plus my left hook tax.

Please also see my thread on which is quieter

The MFR is the same price, however you have to buy a mag, it only comes single shot.

Depends just what you want on there. I've fitted a 42mm PA scope on mine and you don't really want anything much bigger for HFT. NV kit sits very high anyway so it's not an issue for that.

Why sell four different quality rifles just to get an identical pair of ugly ducklings??

    mk2

the mfr is nice looking, nice balance, works well shoots as good as you can.

mk2 more workmanlike looks better works as well shoots as well

    no problems with scope size.

the best thing of all is they are made buy theoben,

    not really.
they all work very well, i have had the mfr. mk2 and mk1
and i have set down the mk1 and mfr for the mk2, it just feels right for me with a db mil pro 8.5/34x52 anchutz trigger bla bla.

i set the gun up in a gun stand i made for zeroing and at 40 yards with bis mags im getting a 1/4 group with 7 shots, so when i remove it from the stand and shoot and miss it's me not the gun.

so if you get 1 or two to shoot try them and then make your choice, you will not be unhappy with the 1 you get.

These will probably be made FAC by Ben Taylor in the near future.

Hmm - correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't HFT limited to sub-12fpe rifles?
