Thats cool. What paper have you printed the targets out on? What are those clips you've used to hold the box to the tripod?

Can you take some measurements, materials please? Looks idea as it can be packed away.

I've been measuring the card NSRA targets and they seem about 300gsm.

I'm thinking of getting some 300gsm card stock and getting a load printed up. Would anyone be interested in a bulk buy?

    Right

Change of plan. Now i'm gonna get this made for me, but I will price and make available for anyone else as long as the price is within reason!.

I'm gonna take a standard 17cm catcher and increase it's size to take A4 card targets. It'll be finished in a Hammerite textured finish and mountable with top and bottom mounting holes.

One of these days I'll actually make something and make a decision too!

Good idea, make sure it has side mounting holes too, so it can take both portrait and landscape.

I use 160gsm as it's only £5 for a ream of 250 sheets and seems to be a good all rounder. I have tried 300gsm but it's not the same card targets are made from so it tears too much on close groups.

With a bit of wood, 2 screws and a spring clip, the standard 17cm target holder now clips to the tripod. So i can now adjust to perfect height.

Well i've been on the hunt for the actual paper used for the NSRA targets. Phoned the NSRA shop and asked who the supplier is, phoned the supplier (Sykes) and they are not interested in quantities under 2000 as their a proper print press. So I asked how much to just buy the paper and was told no way as they make it themselves to a secret recipe .

I guess their not feeling the credit crunch!.

I've got my local print shop on the hunt for different types of paper/card to try and find something similar.

    Postal Comp Target Backstops?

I suggest you purchase A4 Cards, reasonably cheap. Wadcutters will leave a superb hole in these. They are not too thick to print on average home Printer.

I've tried A4 cards upto 300gm and they all tear to one degree or another. The paper is too dense. The NSRA paper is a heavyweight card but light in construction if that makes sense, thats why you get such crisp holes.

I phoned the NSRA shop again and they sell some double target cards which are 20x30 cm approx. So i'm gonna buy 200 and print on the back.
Their only £9.10 for 100 + the printing costs. 10p each is gotta be worth a punt eh!.

Excellent idea; then you can use both sides!!

    I don't ############* believe it!.

Phone the NSRA back to just get a few so that I can check they'll print properly.

They wont just sell me 10, gotta be 100 or more. I explained but they weren't interested. What is it the NSRA are they much primadonnas that they can't help out the mortal man?

I'll see if my club has any and take it from there.

They say a picture paints a thousand words, I think i`ve worked out the photobucket thing, here`s my target holder.

    http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/u...5/PICT2099.jpg

    http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/u...45/target2.jpg

picture2099 should show the steel back to the target holder and target2 with the ppc target attached, the shadow is due to the spotlight I use to illuminate the target, my old eyes need all the help they can get.

    regards

    mike
