The Pneumatic has a small amount of recoil (hardly any) but getting it accurate is harder than it looks.
the action is built a bit like a bike pump, one push to compress the air, then let your finger off the end quick and phhhtt.

The springer gives a nice bit of a kick, but is far more rewarding when you get it right.

I just did a search for the baikal 53 and couldnt find much about it, could you give me a link to somewhere that sells them. Did you make the custom grips yourself?

A Webley Tempest, Hurricane, Premier or Junior. Great build quality (especially the Premier and Junior), easy to use, easy to service, spares plentiful and they are collectables that keep their value. Even a rough example will be a great plinker and will retain it's value.

    Hi mate,
I have seen other shops in the UK selling these Baikal pistols but York Guns is the biggest as far as I know. If you decide to navigate round the website you may find some of the links don't work as the website has been renewed. The link below is direct.

Pretty low power, about 2 1/2 to 3 I would guess. Moderate cocking effort for an adult, too much IMO for a 9 year old (short barrel, no leverage).

    For the original poster:
The Baikal is an accurate gun, but difficult to shoot accurately. However when you can, you can say you've cracked it!

IMO start with a Compact, you'll get better results sooner.
    Walther CP-2 Match, FAS 604 & Tau 7 target pistols, Smith & Wesson 6" & 4" co2 pistol, Crosman 1377,
Baikal IZH 53 pistol, Gamo CFX Royal,177, Umarex SA-10 CO2 pistol.
