    Engraved mounts

I have a set of engraved mounts.

Fancy engraving all along the sides of base and all over rings.

Not alloy. Blued/blacked steel. Quite heavy.

    Fixed with 3 allen pins.

Rings machined seperately and fixed to base with allen pins.

Can someone tell me any history of these and provide an estimate of value please?

I'd guess at a previous "proud" owner who had this done to mount a scope on his pride & joy...? Alternativly some of the custom houses did these type mounts for specials...maybe Venom..?

If you decide to sell Boz..i'd be interested...but couldn't suggest a price...someone will come along now & say £100'sss...ATB.

I've seen some of these in the past and they were produced occasionally to jaz up fancy rifles, even air rifles. To me it doesn't look hand engraved. On its own £45 is about it; or less.

    Engraved mounts

There was a trend a few years ago to ask Don Blocksidge (I think) to engrave small or large items. I have a pair of mounts he did, but he also did full rifles and Webley pistols to a very high standard. These mounts are probably high quality if steel and I believe they are hand engraved.
Life is to be enjoyed, not endured.
