    H Nock Pistol

I have recently aquired a Henry Nock precussion pocket pistol...guessing 1850 ish and about .5 caliber.

Someone has stripped all of the finish from the metalwork....does anyone know if it should be blue, brown or in the white.

    Thanks Dick.

Presume it's a screw on barrel? If so the barrel should be black because it won't be damascene.

The frame can be either brass or steel, Nock had a lot of factories churning out pieces with his name on, quality varies.

If brass it could have been plated, silver tends to go black then evaporate over time, if steel I'd guess shiny rather than case hardening colours, both turn grey if not cherished.
