    Vintage Air Gun comp: who's interested?

    I don't (yet! ) own a vintage air gun, but that's no excuse

    how many of you would be interested in participating in a new internet / postal competition for vintage air rifles and pistols?

    This is still in the planning stages, so I need your ideas and help! I'm thinking of rolling this out on May 30. Six yards, like most of our UBC comps: separate categories for rifle and pistol: NO optical sights permitted.

    Guns would be restricted to springers, single or multi stroke pneumatics, or CO2's, and your gun must have been manufactured before 1970.

    I'd be up for it, but dont know when my ASI Sniper was manufactured
    Probably be in the early to mid 80's me thinks.

    The kid next door has an old Relum Tornado but again dunno how old and it .22 so there would be bugger all left of the target after 3 shots

    Yes, possibly interested in it, but I don't think any of my "classics" are 1970 or before.

    My B.S.A Stutzen is 1986 & my Webley pistols are late 70's/early 80's. The same goes for B.S.A Scorpion pistol and I think my Mk III Webley is early 1970's at best, so I too would not have a suitable "tool" either.

    On the B.S.A.O.G the cut off year is on or before 1986 for the classic spring air rifle class .

    I started a classic spring air rifle comp' last year on the airgun hq website, but there was only myself & my brother in law competiting & it folded.

    I'm in agreement with Chris.

    I think there will be more of a following if the cut off date is mid 80s. However I do have a few 70s airguns, I do think some airguns are hard to date so mid 80s would be more appriorate .

    I came up with 1970 because I'd heard that it was during the 1960's that the modern plastics, cheap metals, etc. started to squeeze out the old metal and wood.

    We don't have to use 1970.

    What does BSAOG stand for?
