    HW100 sport .22 which pellet ???

i have just purchased a hw 100 and it is my first pre-charge gun i normally use spring guns, i dont know if its the quietness and smoothness but the gun seems under powered compared to my other spring guns, i am having trouble choosing the best pellet for killing rabbits i have tried bisley magnums, rws super h points and am trying air arms field tonight, we just dont seem to put the rabbits down, i am going for the head shot as much as possible and am hitting the target but the rabbits bolt off, please help,

    posted update, thanks everyone

My HW, also a .22 likes Penetrators if that helps. Headshots take rabbits out cleanly.

PCP's in general like slightly heavier pellets compared to springers

What power is it shooting at?

Have you had it over a chrono? If you have any doubts about its power that should put your mind at rest. The "quietness" a HW100 is a bit eerie after a springer. Pellet choice is really down to finding the most accuarte and consistent - I would try H&N FTT too.

i use h&n in my .22, headshots drop rabbits like stones!

a misplaced shot, the rabbit will run.

get plenty of pratice in, know your aim points with that particular pellet and you will be fine

    H&N FTT in my .22.
    JSB/AA Field/Daystate/Mozzies were best in my .177.

Head shots on rabbits can be a bit misleading, what is exactly needed is to follow the line from the eye to the base of the ear, get within about 12mm either side of that line, and you will get clean kills, if the rabbit is hit in the head any where else it will be a runner.
As for pellet advice you want a domed headed pellet the one thats the most accurate in your gun, that also produces a good ft lb age, as others have suggested try h&n ftt and air arms fields.

thanks everyone for your advise, i have tried several different pellets today and find that H&N FTT are giving the best results, i am able to put several pellets in the same hole at 35yards on a repeatable basis, now just need some rabbits to practice on, thanks mark

Another vote for the H&N, consistently good. Just beat the AA's in to second place.
