    Falkeing mad

I handled my first Falke over 30 years ago but it is only recently that I have come to own a few of these wonderful rifles.
A few days ago I picked up a Falke Model 80 from a N.Z. collector and I am very pleased with it. These rifles don’t come up often and when they do it is wise to get them when you can. One was for sale on this forum recently and if I were in the U.K. I’d consider selling a vital organ to get it.
My example is not mint and needs a minor sight repair and sight hood. Next is a tune up with new spring and washer but as it is it still reeks quality. Daddy was an Airsporter but junior has more class.
I’m on the lookout for some original Falke sling swivels and an “Air Logic Mosquito” scope mount that I have read will fit the narrow sight rail on this rifle. Does this company still exist? I can’t find them on the net.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Air Logic Mosquito was the brainchild of Richard Spencer the designer of the Genesis rifle. Until recently Richard was the manager of Target Technics of Whalley Road, Accrington, Lancs but the shop recently closed with the demise of Webley.
As far as Im aware the only difference between the Mosquito mount and a standard o/p mount is that the Mosquito is offset slightly to one side to aid head alignment. () Not one of Richards better ideas as Im sure this would induce the dreaded cross over.

    Good find with the '80.

    Thanks for the information I.J.
I confess that although I’ve been shooting and collecting for over 45 years I know nothing about scopes or mounts. What does O.P. stand for?
I need a mount that will clamp to a solid but narrow rail that was designed for open and aperture sights. The few scope mounts that I have don’t adjust that narrow and I would assume that if they did and only one side of the “claws” moved then the scope would not be direct above the bore line anyway??
    Thanks

Barry another BBS member who has adapted a standard scope mount to a Falke 80 recently sent me this:

"Get a cheapo 11mm one-piece mount, get some L-ssection brass strip from a model shop, cut and file it to fit the clamp-jaws, expoxy or Superglue the brass to the scope and clamp onto the Falke scope ramp. You won't be able to get more than 2/3 of the mount onto the ramp, so get an arrestor block (I used the MAG FWB one) and clamp it onto the dovetails on the endblock, so that it abuts the back of the one-piece mount & supports it. Choose a scope and away you go. Shouldn't cost more than £15 altogether."

Thanks Garvin. I will not lie. I did not understand that. Not your fault. All mine. If ignorance is bliss I should be very happy.
