    walnut stock

    Hi,
    hopefully tomorrow l pick up a new 410k with walnut stock, does the stock need to be oiled? if so whats the best oil to use?

    i dont know if air arms finish their stocks with anything, but i like to wipe my walnut down once in a while with a dry cloth, just to keep it clean n stuff

    firstly scope your rifle and then go and have some fun with it before worrying about the stock.

    The AA walnut stock I had on my 400 felt a bit rough so get some fine synthetic wire wool (or a synthetic scouring pad) and a bottle of Nickersons english walnut oil preparation. remove the action from the stock (its only one allen headed bolt).

    when you have the stock off run your fingers gently all over the stock if you feel any rough patches rub gently with the synthetic pad WITH THE GRAIN until its smooth and then continue, when you have covered the whole stock get your walnut oil.

    Give the bottle a good shake and then follow the directions on the bottle.
