This is my first post on the forum so please feel free to point out any mistakes in protocol I may have made.
First let me introduce myself I have been a keen shooter for the last 30 years starting with air rifles and moving on to shotguns and rifles. All hunting no target sports. Mostly walked up or rough shooting with the odd keeper or beater day if my arm is twisted. My only real interest is shooting for the pot. I shoot old English side by side box locks and what ever rifle is needed for the job. I have an Air Arms 410 for knocking over bunnies and that is just about me.
Any way a guy who works in my best mates butcher shop who is now in his 70's discovered his Dads old airgun in the loft and asked me if I could help identify it. Obviously he wants to know if it is worth a few quid before he gives it away. I know less than nothing about old air rifles but said I knew a forum that might be able to help. The inscription on the top end of the air chamber directly above the trigger looks like DIANA then a number with what looks like Germany underneath. There is modest level of corrosion which is obscuring the lettering. Other than that the gun is in good nick and shoots well. I have photos but can’t work out how to paste them. Any help on the gun and posting photos greatly received.
Forgot it is a 22 calibre stock is dark wood with nice figuring, the butt plate looks to be carbon steel. Cocking is by breaking the barrel
Cheers guys

First guess to meeee..
Diana Mod.15 ????
here is a close up of the mid section. I should have added the reason I was asked about it was because of my interest and knowledge of English side by side box locks.

Diana Mod 27?
Can you tell me more about the Diana mod27. I realy have no knowledge of older airguns and even if it is not worth any thing I am sure Nobby (the owner) would like to more of the history of the gun.
Ditto.

Done my bit for the BBS: http://www.airgunbbs.com/showthread....-being-a-mod-… now I’m a game-keeper turned poacher.
Cheers Guys
Following the links it seems to be a pre war Diana 27. Which would seem right as Nobby remembers his dad using when he was still a very young child and he is 74 now. The condition is nothing like that in the links but it looks to be in original condition to me and has been stored for at least the last 30 year. It has no cracks in the stock and cocks and shoots perfectly.
Any ideas on value or how to get it valued?
Cheers
