    QA

Why not try this one it is probably your nearest club,

    Quarnford Airgunners FT near Buxton.

Next shoot, Sunday May 24th 2009 10.00am onwards.

Beginners & Junior shooters are always welcome @ QA.

Entry on the day, no membership fee to pay.

Please search here on UK & Worldwide also the Shoot Results section for other QA information and future shoot dates.

Quarnford AirGunner's are are located off the A53 Buxton to Leek road at Axe Edge Moor on the Staffordshire Derbyshire border. Well signed on shoot day's approximately 4 miles out of Buxton, 8 miles from Leek. Onsite facilities include refreshment cabin & hardstanding car parking.
The undulating sloping terrain is home to seven different course layouts, with variations available to each one a differing course is set for every shoot.
The course which can be shot FT or HFT you choose, is usually 20 targets max points 80, occasionally 25 targets max points 100. The scoring system is two shots at each target, 2 for a knockdown, 1 for a target hit, 0 if you miss. The knockdown targets with string reset have varying hole diameters and range from 7yds. to 55yds.
Some targets are marked as standing only, some kneeling apart from these you can shoot seated, prone as you wish.
In addition there is a zero range, practice targets & seperate pistol course.
You will see most types of airgun used, springers ancient & modern, pcps and CO2.
Scope settings can be adjusted if you wish as you go around the course.
Dwell on the hardware and you miss the point of Quarnford Airgunners, it is all about having a good days sport while enjoying your shooting in a competitive environment.
Please have your airgun insurance available upon request when shooting at Quarnford AirGunners.

    See you there.

    Cheers guys,

Have been in touch with the Byley organiser and will be sure to give the QA meet a look.

Does anybody know anything about the Macclesfield Airgun Club?
    http://home.freeuk.com/maccairgunclub/index.htm
Website seems a bit out of date, no 'next meet' section since 2004.

    Thanks, Graham

    Quarnford

    Hi Graham,
Please do give Quarnford a visit, great bunch of lads that shoot there-toilet available + refreshments for a small fee.
This is a shoot where you can shoot ALL day if you like unlike most that cease shooting @ 1.00pm ,there is a change of course for each shoot, also a good zero/plinking range.
    Personally I arrive @ 9.00am & leave around 4.00 pm// I do like to shoot.// chat & a bit of banter.
Takes me @ a leisurely pace around 40 mins from Sandbach// thru Congleton to Bosley lights carry straight on untill you cross the Dane river then take a right turn just past the small church on left for the village of Flash stay on this road untill you meet the main Leek to Buxton road-- turn left for around mile & half --- look for the sign on gallows left side Quarnford Airgunners--- go thru the gate & follow the track.(please close all gates--- there`s only 2)
    Best regards Peter
