    Webley & Scott Ranger .177

Hi I was looking for some info on the rifle named above? ( age, value... anything at all?)
I got it at a car boot yesterday for a grand sum of 20 quid.. it had surface rust and the stock had loads of white paint on it ( both issues are getting sorted now )
was I robbed or did I do ok?

ps its the springer not the pcp

Are you sure you don't mean Ranger ??? ... Will hold fire on any valuation information etc until I know we are singing from the same page of the hymn book . Atb: G.

The Webley & Scott Ranger .177 was a junior rifle putting out about 6ft.lb. VGC examples go for around £50 (more if with original box). You may have paid a little ott for yours then, but hey, does it really matter, as by the sounds of it, you're going to have £20 worth of fun from just fiddling with it . So imho no, you didn't pay too much, given the whole picture, and welcome to the wonderful world of tinkering with collectables. Atb: G.

    Cheers.

I've sanded all the surface rust off and it seems to be in really good condition as there is no pitting, I've also sanded the stock down and that seems to be in vgc as well.
I'll post some piccys up when I've finished.

Yes please do . In the mean time, look out for any replies that may appear on here from BBS member Sam Vimes (Chris) as he has a soft spot for the old Webley junior rifles (The Junior, The Jaguar, The Ranger and the Victor), and holds a fountain of knowledge about them, too . Atb: G.
