I knew old prewar BSA's especially were expensive in their day, (a farm workers average wage per WEEK in 1906 was 16s 9d.......about 84p!)...but how does this stack up against a new quality gun against todays average wage?
also out of interest ......or maybe not

airsporters were.......in 1958.........£19-11-8d
1962.........£20-18-2d
1969.........£24-1-8d

I am sure I was on about £6 or £7 a week in 1973 when I started my apprenticeship.........thats why all our "gang" had 3rd hand + cadets and the like!........the kids who worked on the building sites had the best guns!!!!!!
