    Colt .45 1911 anination

    I just came across this I could not believe how many parts go in to making one gun well worth a look.

    Last time i was inside my umarex 1911 there seemed to be just as many parts as the real thing. Different parts, but numerous...

    I saw this a few days ago and was surprised when the barrel moved back and tilted. I had no idea they did this.
    I know they were made to kill people, but you have to admire the design and engineering that goes into a gun. I don't think I could design one in a million years.
    Wasn't the Luger designed even earlier than the 1911?

    Yes, it was patented in 1898, and went into production in 1900.

    Personally its the engineering that interests me more than the shooting!
    The 1911 is such a design classic, I've wanted one purely for that reason.
    Sometimes I think I'd get a full metal airsoft jut to have that colection of components!
