Will an Airsporter spring fit an Original Mod 50?

As above, saw one for sale and seller reckons it would fit...is this true?

Well according to Chambers they both take the same spring. MS012 in the chambers parts section.

Yes ... and we have the rifle to prove it. From experience, do not expect to be nudging 12ft lbs (in .22) but you might get not far off 10.5 ft lbs.

PS Phil, did you have to cut it down/ remove coils for it to fit?
