    tuneing daystate regal .20

Hi all, Does anyone tune daystates or know of anyone preferably within easy driveing distance from me,I have a daystate regal .20 what i think needs a good fettle to get it performing to its best,it,s a nice gun but as it is i just dont trust it for hunting,at the moment my first choice is my fenman for stalking and falcon light hunter for nv use,i got the regal for hide work mostly but beyond 35yds forget it.Thank you.

    What pellets ?
You really need FTT's or Super fields at 11.4gn to make the best of .20, but if you go up to the 14gn+ pellets you start to lose the advantage.

Well DR2501 (power for a start ie-exacts13.7=10.68ftlbs,h&n baracuda13.8=10.83ftlbs,bisley superfield 10.6=9.3ftlbs done with a skan so accuate)
and drops like a stone over 35yds I get decent groups at say 40yds+,so surely it,s got to be power related, people on other forums say the,ve sent them to daystate only to come back the same, never taken a gun apart pcp or spring/ram (never had to) even got the tool to do it with but dont have the confidance or knowhow thats why i need help!!!!

    Pressure

What cylinder pressure are you using? Have you found the sweet spot in bar.

I found that in my .20 I would record similar figures to yours at 200 bar, but at 160 to 100 bar 11.64 ft lbs using H&N FTT 11.42 gr.

If you were closer to me takes 1/2 hr to sort.

    Accurate at 55yds.

Ring Daystate explain what is happening they are very understanding
Its free collection from your house its easy.
My Regal works superb on the sovereign pellets groups 5mm at 45 yards , and very hard hitting. Accurate to 55 yards easy i think i could more out of it on paper
You have a warranty why waste it ?
Have you also joined the daystate owners club out of interest

Your Skan might be accurate but those pellet weights aren't.

Super fields are 11.4gn for a start.

Well extorian's wrong in this case, I use them & have weighed them, they are 11.4gn, same as FTT's

JSB 13.73, Barra 13.58 according to the markings on the tin's I've just looked at on the bay, while Chairgun quotes JSB as 13.5 but does not list Baracuda's.

Have you checked the power string down to 160 bar downwards?

Daystate will not set up the gun to produce more than 12 ftlbs at any pressure.

Join Daystate Forum (not Daystate Owners Club) for best info.
