So if you want to do something positive for your sport, write to your MP. Even if you only get a reciept for your letter, at least you are making your MP aware of the popularity of shhoting sports.
By doing nothing, you're allowing the Fun Gestapo the freedom to slowly crush your sport until nothing is left.
