What's PC about a humane dispatch? If something has to be killed, a humane dispatch is the decent thing to do, nothing PC about it at all.

Anyway, If it's close range and the pistol and shooter are good enough, I can't see the problem. When people think about hunting with pistols, they automatically assume someone's taking long range pot shots with the quarry limping off to a slow death.
