Come on I.J. do us a review!
I bought my HW50 on the 1st July from Burgers Discount Armoury, Bexhill on Sea after seeing their advert in GunMart. It was £125. Not a company I have a lot of dealings with.
A strange company policy in that they only post once per week.
The rifle is a genuine Hull Cart. import and this is stamped on the barrel. As you can see from the photo the stock is very plain and similar to the HW99 with the single underneath front screw fastening.
Trigger fitted is the cheaper Perfect unit but Ive changed mine for the better Rekord unit. After half a tin of pellets I stripped the rifle down and re-lubed it with 'proper' greases. Internally its to the usual HW standard with a few rough edges and burrs but easily cleaned up. It now shoots (I.M.O.) smoother and sweeter and is pushing out A.A. Field (.177) at 690 f.p.s. for a muzzle energy of approx. 9ft.lbs. I dare say its possible to increase the muzzle energy but at a lost to its character and accuracy?
Accuracy with the open sights removed and a Simmons 6-18x40 is average but then again I havent done any serious pellet testing and bench resting. Am I glad I bought it for my collection?
Yes. It fills the gap between the HW30 and HW95 and the model is now becoming rare.
HW50
HW50 with BSF55 to compare sizes.
