    Nice one stot.
I've built the circuit I sent you as well and it does work but the board solution is much neater (and easier) so I've ordered one

    Nice work and great post.

I got an interface cable with my Combro so have never needed to build one myself.

When I had space to tune airguns in my shed (and the time to do it), a laptop wired to a chrono was an excellent tool.
    I plink, therefore I am.

if one of you gentlemen would like to make a usb fitting interface which just plugs in and doesnt need bauds and blip blaps, i for one would buy the lead.

theres a market for such a set up.

Depending on whether chrony.exe is hard wired for com 1 & 2 or if it looks for active ports it should be possible to use a serial to usb converter with the TTL to RS232 . I've got dozens of them kicking around, I'll try later when I get in from work.

Chronys is hard coded to com 1 or 2 but you can change it to whatever you want in the chronys.dat file. i dont know if it will work but i would have thought so.

If people really want something knocked up I'll put together a parts list but I would have thought its going to come out ~£17-20 posted for a USB version.

    Cheers

Yes and no. The chronys TTL signal has a distance limitation of about 10 feet, while RS232 can go up to 50 feet (~15m) although most specs will say ~25 feet, USB is about 15 feet. So 50 feet is a theoretical maximum (chrony > RS232 adapter > extension > PC)
You can get RS232 signal boosters to extend the range but you would need 2 possibly 3 of these.

    Chrono Connect

There is now the first release version of Chrono Connect available at

    http://www.chronoconnect.com/

So why not download it and give it a try. Works with Chrony AND Combro, all versions. Thanks to Robin for the Combro info.

Unlocking via the site is not available yet but will be soon.

    Cheers

Excellent. Hope you enjoy the program too.

By the way... Anyone got a Chrony Alpha Master ( or any chrony that stores more than one string of shots ) that I can borrow to make sure the string downloading works properly?
