The red button for cocking got me stumped. Looks Russian or Czech in construction but what ???

Im sure there will be someone along in a minute with the answer.

I think it could be chinese.

My QB57 (which is a bullpup sidelever) also has the same style of safety catch in front of the trigger, and the tip of the sidelever looks similar.

Can you clarify what the red button is for, is it to release the sidelever (before you can cock the gun) or to be able to push it back once the rifle is cocked (that is, it holds the sleeve back when you're loading a pellet for safety)? That gun looks like it has a catch the same as the QB57, attached to the sidelever, which is pressed down to release the sidelever.

The QB57 doesn't have any red button in the fore-end, but of course being a bullpup the fore-end is in a completely different place in relation to the mechanism.

there was a chinese sidelever years ago but i can't remember the designation, i think it was discontinued due to there being no anti bear trap safety present..

i'll have a look in my old magazines as i think they were advertised in them...

Having a closer look, it does look like a standard/traditional shape of the QB57/AR10 >>HERE's<< mine (before being camo'ed).

And the red button would be for the side lever to close. as on the QB/AR it's a latch that you use which isn't on this one.
