    Renovate- Haenel Mod 1 !

    Hi,

This Haenel Mod 1 was brought here by an old lady, here you go, you can have it! This was on May '07. This was the first gun i restored good time.

I've sanded the stock just a little bit, en oiled it.

The metalwork also. After sanding the metalwork was polished.

After that, i rubbed en cleaned the metal, degreasing! is very importend if you want to blue the metal.

After i put several time's gun blue on the metal, i cleaned it, rubbed some oil on it, and the Haenel is back in the game

It looks fabulous Teun. What are you using to get that blued finish?

    Hi Garvin,

Polishing is the most importent thing to do, you also have to degrease it very very good. I do use a trick, i warm the metal up! +- 35 degrees. The gun blue 'gets' the metal better if its warm.

I use ofcourse the best product for cold blueing.

    Hi Dean,

you can buy the blue solution @ www.metura.nl, you also can mail them if you dont get the webshop, the site is dutch ..

The mirror finish? Just polish it with an rotading lapsedrive, you can use Commendant metal polishing, High Gloss. But the most polish pasts that say: High Gloss will be good enough. Watch it... It takes several hours polishing...

    Good luck!
