Lucky it wasn't on his head or he'd be in for the Darwin awards

Should be down around 9ish. Is there bacon, sausages & tea ready at that time ???

Yup - someone else said it's just as well it wasn't on the other (in)side of my wrist. Anyone know of a place selling watch straps cheap. Blade all but sliced that in half after "shaving" my arm.

Still ... on the plus side, it did kinda distract me from the pain of the wasp sting

On the down side, I seem to have picked up two swollen/bruised knuckles from today's course setting session. Almost certainly due to poison ivy.

I'm sure that Richard and the crew don't have these little problems at Ford - just concrete rash

Anyway ... course is set, and now in process of being damped down ... which will mean rechecking for droopy branch obstructions in the morning.

Now .... where's my machette and an oilstone?

That banter hasn't met its end.

The weather hasn't helped you see
Not only that, we're all busy(ouch)

    Tomorrow when the sun allows
We'll all journey to Swallows(bigger ouch)

With the sun will come the banter
As round the splendid course we'll canter

The mood will change, now you've been told
As all of us take aim for gold

    Anyone who dares to moan
Will be left standing all alone

So off to Swallows we'll all go
I'll see you all upon the morrow

A brave attempt, it touched my arf!
More than that, it made me l-arf!
Then I read of Biggles' gaff,
He almost cut his fore-arm off.
The humble wasp, that caused such strife,
Should not be swatted with a knife,
Especially if the blade was in,
The opposite to, the target limb,
Upon which, said wasp had lit,
And Biggles swung his blade at it,
An action seen at best as folly,
At worst he's off his bleedin' trolley.

    arf!

    Hope it's all ok Mike.

    The sky is blue.

    The sun is shining.

And the ground is going to be VERY WET.

We will have to park most if not all of you in the main field, so please go slowly and follow the marshals instructions if you wish to avoid getting bogged down

    See you all soon.

    ... and good shooting everyone

Many thanks Biggles and the Swallows folks for an excellent shoot. I was doing great in the woods and on for a nice score until the wheels fell off... score aside it was good fun and Nick was a good laugh... and he certainly spent his own sweet time freeing the swallows one between the field and the woods!

*edit* sorry to miss out on the medal hand outs but Matt had to get to IKEA, he said it was for shelves but I think it was those rather scrummy hot dogs they do.

Excellent course (& company as usual ) well done Beth on the new PB, shame that 1. we didn't work out you were using lighter pellets with the old aim points untill a few targets into the field & 2. that you shot that bit of stick 2 pegs from the end for a 0. Smiles all round as far as I could see though. Sorry to all those who were frightened by that big stone that BETH threw into the stream

Thanks Swallows, this is what shooting HFT is all about.

So it was a stone and not an alligator dragging somebody into the water. That explains a fair bit.

Thanks to Swallows for the excellent shoot and well done on second place (I did hear that right, didn't I?).
