    I understand the problem

Take both on the day and use the SR
I need to practice more to have more lucky shots.

But come next season, what will you use in the springer comps

    Not the SR

This could be a good reason to have a trip to the gun shop
I need to practice more to have more lucky shots.

    These Springer Comps

Well lads, the news is that our springer comp this weekend is the last one to complete the season

So when we start again in oct 09,we will be having a new springer comp for those of you that have a TX200SR (Semi Recoiless) or other semi recoiless rifles, this means you will not use SR's in any of the main springer comp's which is 6 No rounds only

The semi recoiless new comps could run on the same day as the pistol comp's
    so for now,watch this space

Yep agree a trip to the local g shop could be on the books,Tony

    SR comps

I'm all for giving my TX200SR .22 or RH83 Park Rifle .177 an outing but I'm wondering how many of us have a semi-recoiling springer. The more, the merrier, of course, but the field could be a bit thin on the day.

Also, where do gas-rams fit in? Despite the sales blurb, these are far from being recoilless and could be shot alongside the regular springers. I think the distinction is not so much whether or not a rifle has a spring (or springs) in it but whether it is "recoiling", "recoilless" or "semi-recoilless".

If the SR comp runs on the same day as the pistol shoot, we could depart from the scorer and clipboard set up and issue individual score cards for the pistol event. I'd need to run off a basic rule sheet to be displayed at the firing point but this should work OK. That way, I'd get some SR shooting in and could share my rifle/s with another competitor.

    All the best.

Im prety sure that there are atleast 6 or 7 of us with SR's.

Maybe just a one off comp would be best?

    semi recoiless

I did say that we will have a semi recoiless comp, but not made me mind up yet as to how many comps we do in the year
o.k we could run it along side the pistol comps, but i do not want it to upset the pistol shoot on the day, because we need more members to enter
And yep not everone has a semi recoiless rifle,so yet to work things out yet
    Just watch this space
