Hello Mr Green,
can you post a photograph? Is there a serial number above the left hand grip?
I've just bought a nice Mk1 off of one of the chaps on here and very nice it is too. I was wondering where I might find out about its date of manufacture and all that sort of thing. I've done a google but not come up with anything helpful.

Hi, there is the number 1469 on the cylinder end, and the letter 'Z' stamped on the trigger guard. I'll do a pic in a few moments. http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z...y/DSC01946.jpg

Hi Mr Green,
From the pictures it is a post WW2 model made before 1964 (they stopped making them in 64).
If you look at the side of the pistol that you didn't photograph you will be able to norrow it down a little more. If it has "Birmingham 4" on it it will be pre 1958, if it just has "Birmingham" on it it will be post 1958.
Thats about the best that I can do. Hope it helps.
Matt

It just says "Webley and Scott Ltd Birmingham" on the other side. So I guess that makes it between 58 and 64. Thats very helpful thanks Matt.
