    BSF .22 rifle

    Hi,

I have picked this rifle up and put it down a few times, but finally decided to have the spring replaced and it given a general once over. I'm now wondering if there is any information on these old german airguns? Any advice/knowledge would be welcomed.

    BSF rifle

    Hi, what model is it?
Second they nearly all have leather piston washers, and the one in mine was perfect when I did my S70, and I had it checked by the local police and the officer that did it said it was legal and he was surprised at how consistant it was on a shot to shot basis. So be careful when you take the piston out.
The armourer, with no where near as many guns as I used to have.

What model BSF is it? The 55/60/70 all have a little secret when it comes to stripping.

well it certainly looks as common as muck. No checkering or anything, although the bluing is ok. I have looked but can't see any model number. Where should it be ? It says BSF on the top of the action and on the butt plate but no other marks.

It should have the model number on the side of the barrel block.
Does it have a raised scope rail?

Just dont upset me. My backyards already full.

The secret with stripping a BSF with a scope rail is that the (slotted) screw in the rail has to be undone as this is on a keyway into the top of the cylinder.

hi , posted this a while back, hope it helps

hi phil, strip down as follows.
1, remove the 2 stock screws,
2, unscrew the cylinder end cap, there is a spring behind it , not under any serious tension and only small, put both to one side
3, unscrew the screw on the front of the scope ramp
4, now tap (with a wood drift or simular) the scope ramp backwards about 1.5 inches or thereabouts, the whole trigger unit will move back out of the cylinder aswell, once back at about 1.5" the scope ramp can be lifted off and the trigger unit fully removed from the cylinder
5, now this is where you really need a spring compressor,, take up the tension on the back of the spring plug, still in the cyl, and carefully unscrew the plug bolt on the underside of the cylinder, THE SPRING WILL BE UNDER QUITE A BIT OF TENSION,, BE CAREFULL, you can now remove the plug and spring guide along with the spring
6, there is a pin in the under arm bridge, remove this and the pin from the breech block to remove the cocking arm, you can now remove the piston aswell
i think everything else is self explanitory,
re-build is just the reverse,, and you will def need a spring comp for that
hope all this rambling makes sense

    Hi

Thanks for all the input. As far as I can see on the side on the action is written "made in germany west " and on the barrel block all it has is "med cal 5.5" on the left hand side. On the back side of the action is a set screw for adjusting the pressure and it says " abzugs - stellschrabe " (as close as I can tell). It has a raised rear sight and a front sight in place. Currently it is missing the scope base although there are exisiting holes there.

    Other than that,that is all.

Does this help shed any light on the model?

    BSF media perhaps ??
if any of the other models ie 55, 60, 70 were missing the scope rail there would be quite a large hole/slot in the top rear of the cylinder (thats if my memory serves me right )

There are only two small tapped holes on the cylinder where there scope rail was. Other than that nada. Are there any sources of information on these guns? I've searched but nothing really has come up on the net?
