s16 tips and general gun scope care tips

hi just wondering if theres any tips you guys can share about the s16 , apart from getting rid of it

is this napier pellet lube worth buying ?
id like a gun cleaning kit to clean the barrel etc
any sprays or anything i can apply to help keep it clean
basically gimme your suggestions of what to buy and how to use

looking after o-rings and what would u lube the magazine with

and cleaning the scope lens ?

I've just posted to your other thread about the gun set up, so I won't repeat myself on this one.

Some form of pellet lube might be worth using, but only you can prove/disprove whether it works for you.

Don't bother with a cleaning kit, I doubt you'll need one - you could make your own pull-through from a piece of strong fishing line, other than that theres not much needs specialist gear.

Being a gun with synthetic furnature, you won't need anything fancy, clean mud off with a damp cloth and an occaisional wipe of the metal bits with an oily rag should be fine. If you find that the buddy bottle cover squeeks when moved, you could rub some unperfumed talcum powder into it, to take the "grippiness" out of the rubber

The manual recommends synthetic grease for magazine O-rings, there are many suppliers around for these lubricants so do as you feel. Best advice as far as any form of lubrication goes, too little and it will wear out; too much and it will collect dust, turn into grinding paste and it'll wear out; get the right amount on, in the right place, and it will last for many years.

Scope cleaning, get a glasses cleaning cloth from the opticians or a camera brush from the photographers.

does silicone based lube come under synthetic or is there a brand / type of grease lube yous recommend ?

logun do there own and it should last a lifetime as u only need a tiny bit
u can clean everything els with the antistatic Mr sheen as its full of silicone and cheap

doesnt silicone lube corrode the seals? or is that something else

on the magazine i use dry lube, on the barrel i use 3 in 1 oil to keep it rust free

thats what i was wondering dont want to stick the wrong type on the rubber and have it perish on me

Well, I have used this Napier pellet lube, and it's quite good at lubricating the pellets. It also well revives the oxidized pellets. I used a spring-piston rifle wherein I have seen a rise of ftlbs depending upon how much you have put on your pellets. However, I would suggest you buy it once and see the result. Gloryfire Elite, Otis Elite Gun Cleaning Kit are some of the good gun cleaning kits.
However, do a normal cleaning of your gin on a regular basis, so that it keeps your gun away from oxidation, and don't forget to use a gun vise.
