Despite the windy conditions I thought I would have a 1st time bash at some long range air gunning.

My setup is a 24ft/lb BTAS FX Cyclone in .22 with a MTC Viper 4 x 16 x 50mm

I was shooting at 120yds off a bipod.

As you can see the video is uncut, the 1st shot missed the target, the 2nd was high, the next 6 all hit the target.

This could become addictive.

I bet if you zoomed back out again you'd see mark hiding in the grass at 20 yards

The drop is about 3ft, being a lazy useless so and so I guessed 75 clicks on the elevation and still needed 2 mil dots.

As for Marky you wouldn't see him in the same county whist I am playing with a toy air rifle. If it isn't a centre fire he won't play.

Hopefully if the weather is ok we are doing some 600yd plus shooting with our .243's this weekend

I'm fairly new to shooting, is it better to adjust by vertical clicks or aim high?

With a friends Daystate mk3 we have mapped out how many clicks to keep it dead on upto 70yds but we have had to shim the rear of the scope

good try mate. Its always better to dial the exact elevation and do not hold over. I use dialing in for both elevation and wind. You might need to shim your scope abit to make use of the full range of elevation adjustment.

With regard to wind, I dial the initial windage according to my ballistic table. and then only hold off slightly accordingly. If the wind increases by 3mph+ over my previous dope, I will dial in additional windage. The gun seems to be consistant, they are all falling in the same place. You might be able to reduce the vertical spread by weighing your pellets, you might just cut the group's stringing by 30-50%.

With some practice you will shrink those groups to 1.5 inches soon enough..) glad to see others stretching their legs..

Good effort Darren, I reckon you shoot ditch the tripod and use a double bag rest set up, it might tighten things, then again it might not such is lr air. Are you using a 16gn variant.
I was torn the other evening between moa shooting when the willow blossom was dropping straight down or thinning out the rabbit pop.
