if it has straight wooden grips its an early Mk1 from the mid twenties, in which case it wont have a trigger adjustment screw. These are nice pistols to shoot and beautifully made. Can you post a photograph?
Could I ask you knowledgeable fellows a coupe of questions on a Webley Mk1 Pistol :
Serial Number is given as 5774 - when would that date it ?.
It is fitted with a 177 barrel but has a 22 barrel with it - was that a normal set-up. ?
Lastly, there does not appear to be a trigger adjusting screw through the front of the guard - should there be ?.
I have only seen a couple of pics of this and I am not really sure what to look for.
Thanks
David

Thanks for that Prewar - at least I know its not missing the adjuster screw !.
Apparently I can not post a photo directly on here but the one that I have shows the straight grips. I notice from it that the extra barrel seems to be a later type (with the chequered section - and its also a bit shorter forward of the muzzle support/swivel bit).
The photo is of the wrong side to show if the Webley medallion is still there (I assume it would have one ?).
Hoping to negotiate purchase of this over the next few days but its a fair bit away from me to have a look
i had a straight wooden griped mk1 with winged pellet badge and it had an adjustable trigger.

Hi there,
I have 3 Webley Mk 1's pre war wood straight grip.
Just checked them:-
1 - no trigger adjustment or provision for.
2 - Has adjustment screw in front of trigger guard
3 - Has both adjustment screw and lock screw on the side as
as per later and post war models
The first one is from the early days of production.

My early mark 1 is numbered 5234 ! guesstimate at about 1925,
so almost bedfellows in production.
